Don't Make Me Leave Work - Day 134

Day 426

I got my blog back two days ago and my excitement was so great that I really couldn’t find a way to describe my feelings. Although, with the excitement comes extreme sadness. Excited that I get to continue writing about my marriage but, sad about the reason I began to write in the first place. When the one-year mark came I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, all of the first days are finally out of the way. I still try to limit my crying to just when I am in the shower but it doesn’t always work that way. It definitely comes in waves and it can get frustrating when it happens with no warning. Sometimes it can come from something so innocent. Especially looking at old photos and knowing how happy I was. That girl was so blessed that the search for her soulmate had finally come to an end. That girl who was so excited to get married and never imagined becoming a widow at 39 years old.

Day 134

Monday August 2nd, 2016

Jerry: get up to pee and u r on my pillow when I come back to bed

Jerry: hi baby did you make it to work ok. Thought you was gonna email me when you got there so I know you made it ok.

8:21 am

Jerry: baby I hope you arent having a busy day I love you so email me when you can

8:30 am

Jerry: baby were you kidnaped

8:39 am

Jerry: did I lose my baby?

8:50 am

Jerry: listen woman dont make me leave work and come find you. I hope nothing happened at your work baby please email me so I know you are ok

8:54 am

Me: Hey Big Garland! What exactly would you do if I hadn’t answered? I love you. I am sorry but they were working on my computer so I was getting pacers signed while I had a doctor in the office. I am at my desk now so we can chat all day if you want to.

Jerry: I was getting worried baby. I was going to leave work and make sure you were ok and nothing had happened to you. I love you baby and didnt want you to be hurt.

Me: Wanna know something that I love?

Jerry: you love stealing covers

Me: Well, I do love stealing the covers. When it gets cold, I want a sherpa blanket because you are trying to freeze me out of the house. I honestly thought about getting a heated blanket that you plug up like a heating pad. But what I really love is knowing when we get off work we will be going to the same house. We live together now and we don’t have to drive an hour to see each other anymore. I live with my boyfriend!! Do you know how amazing that is!?

Jerry: no heated blankets in the bed please

Me: Really? I tell you how excited I am that I get to see you every single day now and the only thing you say is ‘no heated blankets’ LOL!! I won’t get a heated blanket but I do really want one. I will look online for a sherpa blanket. They are so soft and warm and I can get a twin size one so it will only be a cover for me. I will send you the link to the one I found.

Jerry: baby I am so happy to come home to you and the kids and all be in one house. I love you so much and you make me so happy. Don’t order anything yet babe.

Me: I wont order anything yet but can we try to find one soon?

Jerry: yes baby we will get one soon

So, my husband surprised me with a sherpa blanket when I got home from work that day. He made me cheesy meatballs and asparagus for supper then that night he tucked me in with my new blanket. I was so comfortable. I watched a movie in bed while he went through some of the boxes we still hadn’t unpacked after getting everything moved to the house. He showered before coming to bed and those sheets and blankets didn’t stay tucked in for long. We ripped the bottom corners of the fitted sheet and ended up in this tiny red recliner and fell asleep. According to my emails the following day we were late for work and the kids didn’t make it to school on time either.

August 3rd

Jerry: hey baby you make it to work ok?

Me: I sure did! Late, so late! How are you babe?

Jerry: my back hurts

Me: where is my sherpa blanket?

Jerry: I put it in the washer baby

Me: I am sorry your back hurts but, we did sleep in a recliner that is smaller than you are! LOL

Jerry: baby we can sleep anywhere you want

Katy: I don't care where I sleep as long as it's with you! But, my left arm hurts like you wouldn't believe. I was trying to stay on the bed and it was the only thing I had to keep me from landing on my head.

Jerry: I don't remember that baby

Me: of course you don't Big Garland.....
